MX5 Roof Repairs
The Mazda MX5 convertible is the affordable roadster that is sharp and more fun to drive than anything comparable.
The Mazda MX5 cabriolet was introduced with the manual soft top cabriolet in 1991, with the 2nd generation arriving in April 1998. Most importantly, the introduction in September 2006 of the Roadster-Coupe model with its folding hard top further broadened the appeal to customers who wanted the handling of the MX5 but weren’t enamoured of a fabric roof.
The Mazda MX5 soft top convertible is often prone to blocked drains and water ingress build up, producing a damp cabin area and nasty smells – we are able to rectify this for you whilst you wait.
The hard top folding Mazda MX5 commonly fails due to the deck link units becoming faulty at the rear of the roof system. We have an alternative repair to new Mazda components and keep these parts readily in stock to get your cabriolet roof working smoothly again and restore pleasurable open top driving.
Keeping your Mazda roof system in top working order is essential and we recommend an annual roof service to keep the convertible roof system well lubricated and free of squeaks.
Like all soft top and hard top cabriolets they have their faults and in particular, lack of attention to care and maintenance can lead to water ingress and the usual electrical and mechanical faults caused by water damage on the operational roof system.
