Twin Top Roof Repairs

The Vauxhall Astra Twintop hard Top folding roof is capable and desirable as well as an affordable, cheap to run and a practical cabriolet that will fit the whole family.

The Twin Top cabriolet is a handsome car in its class with well balanced proportions. The 3 piece metal folding roof is an intricate system that can be raised and lowered of speeds of up to 18mph. At Cayman Autos we would always recommend that whilst this feature is a luxury, to avoid any damage the cabriolet folding roof system should be operated whilst stationary.

The boot storage in the Astra Twin Top is a fair size and has the traditional problem of roof-down access remedied through Easy Load. This allows the rear sill and decks to lift by 25cm, making it easy to get a large bag in or out.

Like all soft top cabriolets they have their faults and in particular, lack of attention to care and maintenance can lead to water ingress and the usual electrical and mechanical faults caused by water damage on the operational roof system.

Refer to your owner’s handbook and take care not to apply or force pressure to any roof component as this can cause further damage and break parts unnecessarily.

I have a fault code for my Astra Twin Top convertible – what repair is required?

The roof ECU is the computer that centralises the roof operation and communications for all the roof components within your Astra Twin Top convertible. Diagnostic equipment is able to draw fault codes from this unit. This however does not provide the user with the repair required – simply it guides to the location of the fault and further investigation with the vehicle is required to diagnose the repair required.
