The BMW 2 Series F23 cabriolet was launched in 2014 taking over from its predecessor the BMW 1 Series as a small compact, self-assured sporty convertible and was facelifted in 2017 F23 LCI.

The electrically operated folding soft top lowers or raises in just 20 seconds at a touch of a button and can be carried out at speeds of just over 30mph. Once folded, the soft folding convertible roof disappears fully into the boot and the luggage capacity is fairly generous. A through-loading system is optionally available to increase versatility.

Like all soft top cabriolets they have their faults and in particular, lack of attention to care and maintenance can lead to water ingress and the usual electrical and mechanical faults caused by water damage on the operational roof system

I recently purchased a 2013 SLK AMG which I love but unfortunately had a leak from the folding roof!I returned it to the Dealer, they was unable to fix it & offered me a full refund. These guys are very efficient. And super nice with it. And reasonable price. They will recommend somewhere to stay if you don’t fancy the M25 twice in one day. I think the message here looking at other reviews is that convertible roof repairs do not by and large get handled well at main dealerships and even so called independent brand specialists. This is my experience too. They will often fiddle around and charge for the failed attempt. Cayman appear to be refreshingly different on the evidence of my visit at least.

I took my Peugeot 207 convertible to Cayman Autos today, and what a great experience it was. My problem was that the hood retracted ok, but sadly, it wouldn't come back up. I had previously taken my car to my local Peugeot dealership to have this fault rectified. Big mistake!!! I foolishly thought that they would be experts in dealing with any Peugeot fault, so I wasted my time and money with them. They hadn't a clue as to what was wrong, but somehow managed to close the hood, but detected no fault, so no repair was carried out. Needless to say, the fault recurred. In desperation I searched on line for help, and that's when I found Cayman Autos, convertible roof specialists.During the course of today, they ran a diagnostic check, established what the fault was, replaced parts that were faulty, and managed to fit in a roof service at my request. So professional yet friendly to deal with, from the young lady on the phone, to Paul who updated me as to what was happening. Obviously the mechanic was skilled, as I have a roof that both opens and now closes as well. Well done, and thank you everyone

I cannot recommend Cayman Auto Services enough. Having visited my local Vauxhall dealer and being told that I should scrap my beloved Vauxhall Tigra, I was at a loss at what to do. Whilst I could cope with not being able to open the roof, what I could not deal with was the inability to open the boot. I had asked a few people to look at it for me but to no avail with people suggesting new pumps and motors but this was merely guess work - then I found Cayman - the experts!From my first dealings with the company by email I was immediately impressed. Millie took the time to explain to me fully what would be involved in the diagnostics and also took the time and trouble to suggest things I could do during the day in the local town centre Redhill whilst waiting for the repair. I was immediately put at ease and it was clear I was in the hands of professionals. It was a long drive from Cardiff but I set out early and was greeted that morning by Leah. Once again Leah was so welcoming and helpful and took the time to explain what would happen throughout the day taking the time to listen to my concerns and explanations on the problems I had been encountering with the vehicle.Throughout the day I was kept fully up to date by both Leah and Millie on costs and what needed to be done prior to any work being undertaken. Through my own choice I decided to opt for additional work to include treating the seals etc resulting in me leaving the Tigra at Cayman for another day and travelling home by train. I was sent a detailed invoice before doing so and both Leah and Millie took the time to explain how the work I had authorised would resolve different issues.I collected my car on the Saturday morning to avoid taking a further day off work and on arrival at Cayman I met with Millie who once again went over and above in making me feel welcome, offering tea/coffee and a friendly chat. It was clear throughout all my dealings with the company that customer service and professionalism is first and foremost in everything they do. I would also like to give a special mention to Adam, the man behind the magic that actually fixed my car and made me feel like I was driving a new vehicle again. Once again he took the time to answer my questions and explain everything in a clear and professional manner. The price I paid was also very reasonable considering all the different work I had done.I have now had the car back just over a month and I am thrilled to say I have not had a single issue. We recently experienced some very hot weather in the UK and my Tigra was used more then ever! It was a real pleasure to drive around with the roof down and only emphasised why I love the car so much!I would like to thank everyone at Cayman for fixing my pride and joy. It may only be a Tigra to everyone else, but to me I could not bear to part with it and it has now been given a new lease of life. My advice to anyone is do not hesitate to contact Cayman if you having any problems with your convertible whatever model it may be - I guarantee that you will be treated with courtesy and professionalism from start to finish with the work undertaken by experts - a rare find in a company in this day and age. I will most certainly be returning next year, despite the distance, for my annual roof service and I look forward to seeing Millie and Leah again - thank you so much!

So glad I found this company and made the 6 hour journey from Cornwall to get my Peugeot 207cc roof fixed.Everyone was so friendly, professional and knowledgeable and I felt very confident from my first meeting with them that they were going to sort my roof problem out.We arrived in Surrey the night before and stayed in a nearby hotel so we could get the car in early as we had arranged.Whilst the diagnostic was taking place we visited a nearby cafe called 'Fat Boys' and had a fantastic full english breakfast. Within less than an hour we were advised of what was causing the roof problem and provided with a comprehensive repair quote and a promise it would be completed that afternoon.Whilst being repaired we had a lovely walk into Redhill which is about 20 minutes away.After a couple of hours we got a call to say the car would be ready earlier than expected , so after charging my phone in their reception and enjoying a lovely free cup of coffee we were ready to go on our way.At last I I had an answer and what a relief it was!! Two main dealership garages had previously looked at the car and neither could fix the problem.Cayman Auto Services Ltd came up trumps and at a very reasonable cost too!! I couldn't thank them enough and they certainly have my full recommendation.I am now a very happy lady and have been making the most of having my convertible roof working again.Definitely 5*service if not more!!Thank you to everyone involved.

I am so very glad that Cayman Autos were recommended to me, as after various mechanics (including a Vauxhall dealership) made futile attempts to fix my Vauxhall Tigra Convertible boot/roof operating system; from the very first contact with Cayman Autos, I felt like I had struck gold! The whole process was easy, stress free and transparent. We were greeted by a very pleasant and attentive secretary/receptionist who made us delicious cups of coffee (as many as we wanted) and kept us informed as to the progress. After initial diagnosis of the problems, a clear, concise and very reasonably priced breakdown of work/new parts required was provided and they even had the time to do the work whilst we were there. Very knowledgeable but they didn't lock down my roof, so it popped open at 70mph on the way home. I would still use them again though.Update Aug 2023 £700 to diagnose, top-up roof hydraulics, reset roof ecu, adjust locking mechanism, and grease joints. Not sure how long this took but I would have thought 4 hours max. Quite an hourly rate!

1st class service, managed to fit me in at short notice and then went out of their way to repair the job quickly as I had traveled from Devon. Excellent company, fantastic service.Again in July 23 when I had a roof issue, Cayman Autos had no issues making the repair free of charge because they think they should have spotted the damaged cable last year. Good old fashioned honest work and I would not hesitate to recommend using them.

Book in with Cayman for their 2 hour diagnostic service which was told would be under £90. Dropped the car, hours later I haven’t heard anything so contact them, was told that it was taken longer than expected, but don’t worry there won’t be an extract change. Eventually got the car back about 8 hours later and despite being told it wouldn’t cost me any more, they charged me about £190, with a quote of £4200 to fix the roof. They stated all 3 motors needed changing, a cable and the gas struts. They said the main motor was turning very slowly that’s why this need replacing. I had had all 3 motors changed within the last few years so didn’t believe them and they hadn’t quoted for the main release mechanism which I knew to be faulty.Despite me assuming London prices would be more, I took it to another specialist in London for a second opinion. The told me all the motors were fine, it was the main pump that was faulty and causing the slow movement, so this was changed. They also changed 2 of secondary motors plastic gears for metal to future proof them. They changed the main release mechanism and found that the reason the roof wasn’t working at all was a break in the wiring loom. The find the break in the wiring loom took them 8 hours, with the associated London labour charges and change the cable and gases struts (at least Cayman git that bit right). While they had the car, the also changed the tank fuel pump, to do this you have to remove the interior, they gave the car a full service and carbon cleaned the engine. They also changed a few brackets that they found to be broken all for £3400.I have no idea how Cayman got the diagnosis so wrong or more importantly where they get their prices from. I got so much more work done to the car and yet it still cost me £800 less than Cayman quoted me! You have been warned.

It was just so nice to have dealings with a Company that was both super competent and super courteous……from Leah who booked us in and reminded us the day before the appointment, to the gentleman in charge of reception down to the mechanic who on taking the car for repair even asked if he could get us a drink whilst waiting for the repair…… …….sadly neither competence and courtesy are particularly common nowadays and so it is remarkable and something of a pleasure to come across such a team of people who all seem to have such an ethic. I am aware just how difficult it is to create such a team.My wife and I adore driving a convertible and to know there is a Company such as yours removes a major worry that we might not be able to get the necessary repair service when its needed

If you have a convertible that no longer converts, don't hesitate or mess around letting ordinary garages "have a go" - take it straight to the amazing team at Cayman Autos who know exactly what they're doing. They diagnosed and repaired the roof on my 2013 VW Beetle, and serviced it, all for an excellent price. It was well worth the 900 mile round trip from Glasgow, after my normally-excellent local VW specialist quoted me a ridiculous price to replace lots of parts (that Cayman found were not in the end needed), which "might" have fixed the issue. From the first phone call to Cayman they gave me the confidence that they were the right folk to do the job, and I must say it was a great experience from start to finish. I'm hoping a return trip won't be necessary, but if I ever have issues with the roof again I'm without hesitation coming back to Cayman!

My normal garage quoted me £4,500 to fix my roof issue. So, having read the reviews online, I called Cayman Auto Services asking if they could fix my Aston Martin DB9 Volante as the roof wouldn't open fully. They said that due to how busy they are, I would have to wait a month before they could give me an appointment but they could fix it for a fraction of what my main dealer was asking and they certainly delivered on that.I was told they might need the car for a couple of days, depending on the findings of their investigation. So I dropped the car off to them in the morning and headed home on the train, I hadn't even got back to London Bridge when they called to tell me I could pick the car up at 4pm that afternoon!!!Amazing service at a reasonable cost, they also offer a half price roof service if you want it on the same day as the fix.If you have a problem with your convertible this is the company to go too.

when was the last time a contractor charged you less than the quote? What about the bill being around a half of that quote? My experience with Cayman today was like a breath of fresh air(and I don't mean that my repaired convertible roof was now working perfectly).I have been using Cayman for about Five years now and have found them to be reliable, professional and completely fair in all dealings. My old VW Eos convertible hard top suddenly decided it didn't want to open any more one hot summer's day. Took a month to get an appointment but they successfully diagnosed a leaky hose plus a hydraulic airlock (then rear light assembly wiring) and fixed over 4 days. Absolutely "..... " marvellous !!!! My old (2002) Mercedes CLK 200 developed a roof problem back in November 2022. I took it to my local independent Mercedes garage on several occasions only to be told that one thing after another was wrong but they still couldn't fix it. Having almost given up and considering having to scrap the car I contacted Cayman in February 2023. What a fantastic find. After lots of phone calls back and forth I finally took the plunge and booked the car in for further diagnosis and repair despite being an hour and a half drive away. I now have a fully functioning (better than ever before) roof and an enormous smile on my face every time I go out for a drive, and it didn't cost me a fortune. Had my 2000 BMW 323 ci’s roof repaired last week. I left the car at 0830 and had a phone call around 1000 to say they had diagnosed three faults. I was given a quote and advised that the parts were in stock and could be fitted that day.I drove away before 3.00pm with a perfectly working roof.It’s hard to think of anything that could be improved.The staff were extremely helpful, polite and efficient.I would recommend Cayman Auto Services to anyone.Malcolm Price

So glad I found this company.My hard top roof had failed to close correctly during a clean. Initially I'd asked them to make it safe and return my windows to up position.They quickly fixed this and diagnosed the problem with my mechanism.The pump had failed... by a stroke of luck they had a replacement in stock and gave me a quote to get this sorted.A few hours later, and some complimentary coffees and it was done.They kept me informed during the whole process and made myself and a 6 year old girl very happy on our drive down to Weymouth.💯% recommend this firm for any convertible issues. Very professional and unlike others I'd tried prior had the kit and skills to get the job done promptly and to a high standard.Thank you so much. Cannot praise this company enough. Our cars roof would not complete its closing operation; it would open & shut but alarm kept going off that operation was incomplete. This eventually led to other issues such as doors not locking and the boot not opening. Visited one (alleged) roof specialist and Renault directly before bringing our Renault here. First claimed motors for roof needed replacing at cost of £1100+vat, second claimed motors again, which were replaced & made no difference to issues. Collectively we were £400 worse off and no closer to being resolved. Renault even had the car almost a month too. Brought it here & the issue was diagnosed within 30 mins. Repaired within 3 hours. All for a fraction of what the first two places were charging. If you have issues with your convertible, come here. Very good value for money, very friendly dly & knowledgeable staff who actually know what they're doing.

Glad I found Cayman rather than pay absorbitant Merc prices. From start to finish a confidence boosting experience from everyone I spoke to. Ref replacing cords on roof on my C Class Cabrio From build date my car was obviously fitted with substandard cords. Washed my audi s5 Thursday morning thought I would open hood and clean seals and it worked for 3 seconds and stopped couldn't get the hood shut properly by this time its 330 in the afternoon search the Internet for a repair company and found cayman auto s they manage to get me a appointment for Saturday morning got there at 830 and car was repaired by 1145 expensive but you get that you pay for and I don't believe anyone else would of been as good or quick there's not many garages that specialise in soft tops over all was very happy will be storing the number my phone cheers cayman

In 2022 we noticed sounds of sloshing water in the back of our 2016 BMW convertible 4-series. According to Google it's due to a well-known design issue. The dealer wasn't aware of any issue and asked £195 for diagnostics. A local "German car specialist" wanted £760 per side to fix the problem.Cayman Autos only do convertibles. They are genuine and friendly and knew immediately what we were talking about. The company website provides good directions and even tips on things to do in the area while they service the car. Oh and we were charged £168.We tried many garages in the past and never been impressed but Cayman's is in a class of its own.

After months of having issues with my roof, it was really nice to find somewhere that actually knows what they are doing instead of guess work. There was constant communication throughout the whole process and everyone I spoke to/e-mailed at the time was really helpful and friendly. I really cannot fault them. Car trouble is always a pain but they made it a whole lot easier.

Just occasionally, you find someone who really knows what they are doing. A dentist, a builder, a vet - whoever. You know as soon as you arrive you are in good hands and they don't disappoint. I found a new one this week - Cayman Autos for sorting my wife's beloved little red car. The 428i has a fearsomely complicated folding hard roof and there were a couple of problems; hinge failure and the load assist system not working. I arrived on time (it's quite well hidden, but the postcode will take you to the right place) and three and a half hours later left with everything fixed and the roof serviced. It's now perfect, balanced and quiet, and far cheaper than a dealer would be. Apparently, people come from all over Europe for such expertise. If you have a roof problem these are the best people out there.

The electric roof on my wife's 15 plate VW Golf developed a fault during the summer months. Having spoken briefly to the team at Cayman, they had a long lead time unfortunately. We should have realised, this is a sign of a great company!Thinking we could get the issue resolved sooner, we booked the car into lookers VW in Guildford, thinking (wrongly) that noone would know the car better than a VW main agent. How wrong we were, they happily took more of our money...'trying' to find the fault. They needed more and more labour hours and eventually we asked for the car back!It transpired, (via Master Technician there) they have absolutely NO means of diagnosing faults properly on individual components, such as the motor, or the pump etc.We then got the car back and booked it in to Cayman, something we should have done at the outset. Paul met with us initially and he could not have been more professional and helpful, taking time to explain how they would diagnose the issue then sort it if we chose to ask them to do so.The car was booked in, diagnosed as being a faulty pump and that was replaced. Needless to say, the roof works better than ever now.We had our 11 year old, car-mad son with us when we collected the repaired car, Paul still took time out of his day to show us and our son around some of the amazing cars they were currently working on. Testament also as to why they are so well regarded within their industry.Please, if you have a problem with your electric roof, don't waste time and money like we did by taking it to a main dealer, TAKE IT TO CAYMAN AUTOS.Sincere thanks again to you Paul and your team behind the scenes.

Dont hesitate if your reading this.. I have had a few convertibles over the years and I wish I had come across Cayman so much earlier, it would have saved me a fortune. A recent issue with my latest hardtop convertible filled me with the usual dread, contacted Cayman straight away after recommendation on a forum and reading reviews, friendly communication from initial contact - booked in for a consultation, consultation was fast and efficient (by the time I had walked to get a sandwich and eaten it I had a call to come back) - the lovely office ladies explained the required works clearly, including the limitations (in this case a water leak), prices were explained (and super reasonable when compared to a main dealer who wont even know what to do). They had her in for 2 days of works (I got the train home) contact during this time was quick and efficient to highlight how things were going. I even picked her up on a Saturday morning (which is handy to fit in around work). The technicians and workshop chaps I spoke to were knowledgeable around the particular car model issues , and their specific "fix" for them. I have since had around 4 to 5 days of fairly serious rain since picking her up and at the moment no leaks at all - so I would say that so far quality is excellent. I will definitely be back next year for a yearly roof service :)

Doesn't get much better than this.After getting nowhere (and parting with a considerable sum) with my local Volvo service centre I looked further and came across Cayman - what a find!Absolute leaders in the field of looking after convertibles, fault finding and diagnosing complex issues, these guys know their stuff and at a fraction of the price. This completely outweighed the travelling involved as they turned everything around quickly and had me on my way with a completely fixed car.The helpful friendly staff, transparent costs, expertise and high-quality workmanship make this one of those rare experiences that just have to be shared.If you own or are thinking about buying a convertible, where ever you are based make sure you speak to or visit Cayman, you will not be disappointed.

Cayman autos managed to fit my car in for roof repair as mot was due imminently. Another garage had held onto car for three weeks unsure how to proceed. My mini convertible had roof stuck open and boot also stuck locked. Cayman fixed both with no hesitation and kept us up to date with progress. I had a problem with my Alfa Spider roof not working correctly. I was given the recommendation from AROC read the reviews and gave it ago. What I got excellent service from start to finish so I knew what to expect. More importantly they unlike other garages I had been too fixed the problem and now my roof which is the centre piece of any convertible car is back up and running. Thank you Cayman for a great job.

Any problems with cabriolet/convertible roof mechanics what so ever then I can not fault these atall, very professional, did actually what they said in the time they said for the price they said (& less then half the price MB charge) I’m so pleased, I’ve not used my roof on my 2018 cclass for 3-4 weeks as cables were fraying and didn’t want them to snap, A complete cable upgrade completed by Cayman,100% I won’t use any other place/company in future, it was worth the drive (and a night in a b&b) , picked the benz up this morning ,home now and happy 😃Cant recommend these enough! !

I was seriously worried about the action of the metal roof on my BMW convertible.During my regular service with our local BMW dealer, they were very indifferent about being able to trace or remedy the problem.I then contacted Cayman and they gave me an immediate appointment and went on to fix the problem WHILE I WAITED IN THEIR RECEPTION AREA for the return of my car.This short waiting time was reflected in the (labour) cost. They also serviced the roof which added some insurance for my future use.....I think they are a very professional group and great people.

I've no doubt they know what they are doing, but quoting me over £4k for my Alfa Spider 939 (new pump, rams, 2 x flap motors, window switches....) seemed completely unrealistic, especially as I stated I was selling the car. I paid their £96 diagnostic fee, replaced a cog in the one failed flap motor for £25, spent £20 on hydraulic fluid and a pump and changed the fluid, plus removed and cleaned the contacts in the window switch at no cost and the roof worked fine. You will, no doubt, get a great quality repair but be ready for a high quote that may not be aligned to the value of the car or your expectations.

Millie was incredible, called me and updated me when she said she would, from someone who works in customer service, her customer service is top notch! I woke to find the back window in my Audi convertible virtually hanging off, totally distraught, as I know Audi refuse to fix these and tell you it is a new roof or a write off, I remember referring Cayman Auto's to a friend who had soft top mechanical issues, after finding them online! Remembering my friend had a good experience with the work carried out, I called Cayman Auto's. I spoke to a lady called Millie, who was so helpful, they booked my car in that week, it stayed in overnight, and the results of the window being redone, as it being stuck back onto the roof, the job is brilliant, it actually looks better now than before it falling out. They also provided me with a soft top service, which involves regreasing the joints and checking the hydraulics for leaks, to make sure the soft top works at it's best. If anyone out there has any issues with any make of soft top, please please please, give these people a call, they know what they're doing and can give your car a longer lease of life instead of changing it due to the roof not working. Can I just also say, the staff are knowledgeable and very friendly, excellent service was had all round.

I was taken back by just how organised and professional this place is. Firstly they fixed a roof which I thought was unfixable and only a week later & through no fault of anyones, a small piece of trim came loose only to cause another problem for me. Only one very quick call was needed, as I was in only a week previous they had me in the very same day and fixed within 15mins and for FREE!The ladies on the phone were terrific and Paul who I believe may be the manager/director is out of the top draw! Wonderful service! My cars roof wouldn't lie flat when it was down and, when it was examined by one of the Cayman staff, they quickly discovered that it was being caused by something I had left on the back shelf. Excellent customer service from start to finish. I had the most annoying rattle coming from hardtop roof. After the initial diagnosis, I was a bit worried about pricing. However, the cost to service and re-adjust my roof and get rid of that rattle was worth every penny. It was actually a very competitive price. The Technician was on hand throughout, put me at ease and answered any questions I had. Good job and see you next year for my annual service.

After over a year of not wanting to use the soft top on my beloved Audi TT Because of its unreliability I eventually found cayman. Right from my initial contact with Millie at Cayman I really felt that I was in safe hands.I was pretty sure it was at least one of the flap motors but I booked in for the initial diagnosis as recommended because I wasn’t sure if something underlying could have caused the failure. I asked if any work could be done the same day so I didn’t need a return visit.I arrived on my day of booking and after about an hour they confirmed it was the flap motors. I gave the go ahead for the work and also asked then to give the roof a service.I had come prepared for a long day, drinks, packed lunch, books etc but less than two hours later it was done.Seeing the roof down after on my baby after so long was pure joy.Thank you Cayman. I can’t recommend these guys enough. Professional, friendly and caring. A brilliant job for a reasonable price.

VW Eos sunroof stuck half open. Contacted several specialists who were either busy for weeks or didn't like doing roofs. But one recommended Cayman so I phoned them. Wonderful response from Nicky, friendly, reassuring, knowledgable, gave a realistic lead time. In fact they sorted it in a day, due to cancellations. Paul did the work - same friendly manner and good at explaining. Very delighted and will return for service in autumn - well worth the 45 minute drive.

My VW Eos roof stopped working having. I initially contacted a VW dealer and was told that they would need the car for at least 2 days and could only investigate the leak if it rained (!) I then found Cayman Autos.From the initial telephone call to the final bill I could not have been more impressed. Excellent customer service, two great mechanics and of course they diagnosed and fixed both problems and then threw in a 50% reduction in a roof service. If you have a convertible, particularly a metal folding roof that has issues then contact Cayman......very, very good.

I was going to give 5 stars for the investigation but I cannot leave two reviews so I am editing into one review- sorry.5 Stars for stage 1- diagnosis- 90% happyNot 100% happy with attitude of staff and transparencyI was quoted £96 for the diagnosis and they seemed to know their stuff on the 'phone and so I agreed to this fixed fee. Reviews looked good but that's clear now that people will be taken in by patter and smiles.The problem was correctly diagnosed and I went away happy that I knew the issue but was not feeling any trust in the fact they refused to show me their findings or let me view the process etc. Hence me NOT going further with the repair through themDiagnosis was a broken sensor- cost £440+vat1 star for the follow up after the diagnosis.I asked to watch/ view the investigation- nope, not allowed, same old line "insurance"- which is obviously the reason that as soon as I walked out of the reception (to take a 'phone call) the mechanic rudely closed the shutter, must be a violation of insurance to look through a door. Why? Probably don't like transparency.ALL Trust lost. I took the car homeSo at 6pm this Monday a friend arrived to reset the fault codes with me. After 5 minutes that was done and we started to look through the roof mechanism and within 20minutes had it all figured out, carpets removed, checked the pump, found all the hoses and control modules. We worked out there must be 3 or 4 sensors and yes, we found the broken one.Its tab that fixes it in place had snapped- they were bang on and MUST have seen this to know it was snappedSuperglue is amazing stuff. Roof fixed and beer open all within the hour.Their quote £440.00+vat for 5hrs work.Reality- they could have fixed it during the investigation easily but that does not relieve you of your hard earned. We took under an hour and we'd never worked on a folding car roof before. Ok, we're not idiots, we know our way round a car but don't trust their quotes.

This garage is one of the best and most efficient I have ever visited or used since i began driving. They were able to diagnose the problem with my Eos roof within an hour, and have it repaired in a day. Their customer service is amazing with extremly nice staff who are helpful and make you feel at ease. I would recommend them to anyone. They literally saved my baby (Eos)! Paul and his team really went out of their way to help with the broken roof on my Ford Focus. I got stuck with the roof down in the middle of winter and ringing around, the only company I could find to fix it were Cayman Autos. Being in Nottingham, I was worried about driving down and finding that it couldn't be fixed, but I spoke to Paul several times and he assured me it could be done.So I drove down on a good day and left the car with them. A few days later they called to say it was fixed and working. I had to take it back again a few weeks later as the boot latch needed adjusting to make the roof work properly. They fixed it free of charge under the warranty of the original work!Brilliant service. Would highly recommend to anyone that has issues with their car roof even if you have to come from a long way to get to them.

I recently visited Cayman Auto Services Redhill to have some issues resolved with my BMW soft top. The roofing mechanism had developed a fault and wasn't closing properly, the roof also needed cleaning and re-waterproofing . I received excellent service from the team at Cayman Autos from start to finish, the roof had a full service, clean and reproof , seals replaced and came back looking like new. Their customer service was exemplary , I would highly recommend!

4 years ago, I visited Cayman Auto Services as I had a mechanical problem with my SLK's roof. They were great! Took into account my distance from the garage, a 2½ hour drive, and generally did a great job fixing the roof.Last week, I visited again, for them to diagnose a water leak, on a different vehicle. I had a very different experience. They had a quick 5 minute look at the car, and told me that the roof would 'probably need bonding, and they'd need the car for two or three days', and asked me to book it in. I declined.Now, they're the experts, but surely to diagnose a water ingress leak, at least a little water should be involved?If I hadn't asked them to refit a seal, which I knew wasn't fitted correctly, I don't think the car would even have gone into the workshop.And for info, the leak hasn't reoccurred since they refitted the seal, so potentially that was the issue, and the roof doesn't actually need bonding after all. However, I appreciate it's still early days, and time will tell.Edit... I actually asked to be booked in for a water leak inspection, to have that seal refitted, and a drainage tube clean.

So after RAC broke my roof then failed epically to take responsibility for their actions, I went to caymans in November to do a diagnostics.A lovely lady named Milly dealt with me. Explaining that my mum was also in intensive care after having surgery to remove a very serious cancer and her pancreas and spleen, so money was an issue as I was taking time off work to care for her teenage children, they made the car safe to drive again for free.Returning today (mid January), I was dealt with by a lovely dark haired lady who's name I didn't get. Friendly and couldn't do any more. I then bumped in to Milly, who recognised me, then straight away asked how my mum was getting on.What incredible customer service!!!! I can't thank you all enough for all the help. I would recommend you to just anyone. Thank you so so much again.

Had issues with my roof on my Audi A3 and after being quoted thousands of pounds by other garages and Audi, I found Cayman on a Google search and after booking it in for a Diagnostic (which was cheaper than others) they found the fault and quoted me a very cheap price and the total repair was completed within 2hrs plus as I had a repair done I was able to take advantage of the roof service for half price which I am so happy I did as the roof now looks and works like car came off the assembly line, plus the staff’s customer service professionalism was excellent..My whole experience with this company has been a 10/10 and I absolutely recommend them.

Excellent service from start to finish. I was a bit dubious at first due to the potential costs which may have arisen after the initial meet. However after the level of service and quick turn-around time I felt It was justified. I had My Hardtop roof re-adjusted to fit better to My Z3 & the drains cleared on the pillars to ensure water wasn't being clogged up. They also rejuvenated the top of the window sill on the windscreen to ensure the fit was tight and also completely repaired a previous owners bodged repair on the left hand passenger side sill to ensure I was now no longer going to get any leaks into the car as I was getting streams of water in the cockpit previously.Everything is now water tight and we're now pleased with the work carried out. Recommending to others and local to me in case I need any further work to be done. Great Job to the technician who was also very detailed and to Millie for being transparent throughout the process!

I took my BMW 3 series hard top to Cayman Autos after BMW service centre quoted me £1600 for a new motor and hydraulic pump to fix the roof which wouldn’t open, needless to say I didn’t buy.Cayman lubricated all the joints and tweaked the locator lugs on the roof and it all worked perfectly, and all for the cost of the diagnosis. From the very knowledgable lady who booked my car in to the end fix everyone at Cayman was fantastic. Thank you.

Wow,wow. If you got a sunroof especially m series bmw,an it goes wrong this is the place to go.took it 2 3 other garages an they all came up with a different problem, even the main dealer,an there diagnostic was the worse replace everything. Well Cayman Aut services do sunroof problems .On the phone they new the problem, the lady told me would do a diagnostic, then fix the problem, was a bit sceptical, But "Wow"40 minuets later found the problem.why only (The windows would go down but roof wouldn't move).Said come back in 2 hours an will be ✔ done.gave the go a a head.and just as they said.job completed.Now thats Well worth the look 2 hours drive there but when you come back job done.SUNROOFS IS THERE THING,ANTHEY KNOW THERE STUFF.Thank you to everyone there 5***** service an work..

They done diagnostic on my car £96 inc vat and they said window motor need to replace so quoted again £550 for part and labour. You can not start there to see what they reallly do and when you ask for part what they replaced they haven’t got. Also why I’m fed up as I just got a call that I need to pay again the £550 or send a proof as they can’t find any payment!They won’t give you key or let you go away until you paid by the way, but it’s my turn to proof 4 months later I paid!They kind and nice as they need to if they rip you off, but cheating a lot!

My CLK 230 (W208) roof had stopped workingcompletely and I wasn’t hopeful of ever getting itfixed again. An independent Mercedes shop looked as best they could, but they were not experts at hydraulic roofs, and they thought that some hydraulic fluid under the rear seat was a symptom of the failing roof.Luckily for me I found Cayman Auto Services and booked the car in for a diagnosis. After a few days I booked in again for the work to be done. At the end of the day the roof was completely fixed and working just as it had done.A lower control arm and other bits had beenreplaced at what I thought was a very reasonable price. In addition Cayman Auto Services diagnosed that the hydraulic fluid under the seat wasn’t from the roof, but from the automatic headrest system that shoots up as a rear rollover bar, in event of an accident.It was recommended that I purchase a used replacement system that they had identified for me and Cayman Auto Services would fit it for me.This happened over a 1/2 day, So the roof is completely repaired and working, and the headrest rollbar system replaced and fully functional which is a big safety issue. All for a price in the late hundreds, not thousands.I couldn’t be happier with the work, the great professionals, (the team keep you posted on progress) and the great value. Thanks to Adam especially.Not forgetting as part of the roof fix they also fixed operation of the electrical mirrors etc.Thank you so much Cayman Auto Services !!!

Fantastic experience from start to finish. Turned what could have been a nightmare scenario of a roof stuck open into a same day fix. My local garage (in North Essex) could not fit me in for at least a week and with rain forecast this was not a viable option. Saw lots of positive reviews for Cayman online with most saying issues resolved on the first visit so thought I would try them. They too were very busy but when I explained my roof stuck open predicament they were able to fit me in within 72 hours. Arrived at 8:30am, fault fully diagnosed by 10:00am and fully fixed by 14:00. Cannot recommend Cayman Auto Services enough. If you are having convertible roof issues then let the expert team at Cayman work their magic!

After two failed repairs from ‘BMW specialists’ who gave up trying to find the fault, I found this place. The soft top on my E46 M3 stopped working. The button was flashing and nothing happening when you try to lower it. Within two hours I got a phone call explaining what the diagnosis was. Quoted me a price and fixed the car the same day ! Wow I couldn’t believe it. They even serviced the roof for me. Richard and Nikki were very professional and courteous. Absolutely worth the travel. Don’t waste time going to other places. I had a problem with my BMW 1 series convertible roof and initially went to BMW for diagnostic and repair. It needed a new hydraulic pump due to water ingress and after looking around I found Cayman Autos. From the initial contact to getting the repair completed they were most accommodating and absolutely fabulous, keeping me updated all the way. I had to travel from the midlands for the repair but it was well worth it, and I saved a considerable amount of money given the alternative. A great company which I would highly recommend.

Five star service, as promised. Fitted me in with less than a week's notice, job done in about 3 hours. Found the fault that Porsche Brooklands couldn't, saved myself over £1000 by not agreeing to Porsche fitting a new motor that wasn't required. I visited Cayman Auto Services Ltd on 13th July to get my Audi A4 roof checked out as it had been giving me problems when I was trying to open it as I arrived and was greeted straight away I knew I was in the right place due to the greeting and atmosphere, and I was proved right with the results. My car was diagnosed with having a faulty roof motor which was replaced and fitted at great speed. Beware of this Company don't be fooled by the friendly staff immaculate workshop basically a 'rip off'. I was quoted £850 worst case for my Mercedes roof Diagnosis and Repair. Traveled all the way from Bedfordshire to Surrey. After diagnosis they said it required pump, struts and a service totaling £1300 :-( I questioned the £850 worst case and they denied it. Looked on Ebay for a refurbished pump and £400 to £500, they charged nearly £900. I managed to negotiate down to £1172 but this was still extortionate.

I first approached Cayman Autos as a result of serious water ingress into my daughter’s Mercedes SLK R172. From the moment I spoke to the lady that answered the phone I knew that I was in safe hands, sometimes you can just tell. These guys know their stuff, not only that, they understand customer service. For once, it is nice to find genuine respect and care within a sector of the motor industry. This is how business should be conducted, the repair explained by the technician himself, Karol, a very humble person who clearly knows his stuff followed up by a thank you email from the office manager. Brilliant. My daughter informs me that the vehicle is now water tight thanks to Karol’s skill and care. What has happened to main dealers and their technicians? They have become fitters with no interest in any form of effective repair. It is a case of replace rather than repair but even the Government has now conceded to a legal right to repair for certain products. Provided that a repair is conducted effectively and safely, it should always be the first form of recourse. Cayman Autos is the ultimate proof of this argument. Thank you so much.

Cayman Autos for roof repairs are an excellent example to all businesses prompt and friendly service reliably performed to time and cost.My A4 Cab had a wiring issue and this was diagnosed and repaired. I am quite sure the Audi Steelership would have charged significantly more and would have taken more time to resolve the issue.Worth travelling for this kind of service.

I cannot praise Cayman Auto Services highly enough. It was a long way for me to travel but I felt that they went out of their way to fit me in. Millie on reception was really helpful and Adam the technician went way above and beyond in trying to diagnose my issues (of which there were several). He then gave me a comprehensive report about the problems and did not let me go until I was completely satisfied. Whilst it became clear that my roof was beyond economical repair, I can recommend the professionalism and knowledge of this team. They can tackle every kind of roof as was demonstrated by their car park and are clearly very popular due to length of time to book. Get in early would be my advice. This review is a little overdue, having taken place a few months back - But I felt the need to write it for the service provided, as it was excellent!I had an issue in which my car's roof (BMW 3 series convertible, 2010) was stuck open. Having spoken to BMW directly, I was told it'd likely cost between £500-£1000 for diagnostics and basic repair, and that there was roughly a 2-3 week wait time (In which I would be unable to use my car.)I quickly researched alternatives, and being from East Kent, found few viable ones close to me. I stumbled across Cayman, so I called to inquire into availability, rough price, how long it would take etc - Lady on phone incredibly helpful. Ultimately my father took it to them as I was out of the area, and within about 3 hours they managed to fix the issue (Beats the 2-3 week wait time from BMW!) In addition to this, the final bill was under £500, which although is still a little on the expensive side, I found worth it through the experience I and my father had, alongside simply the haste and expertise of those working here.The thing that pushed me to write this review moreover anything was an extra level of service they included. Not only did they not mind me keeping the car there overnight (considering it was a little while away from where I live), but they actually fixes a deep scratch on my bumper without me asking, and without charging me! This was a really pleasant surprise, as it was one of those things I kept delaying to get fixed, and would have ultimately costed more than £150 to get fixed.I'm very impressed by this, hence leaving this review!Ultimately is on the pricier side for a private business, however you're paying for expertise, effeciency and an unparalled level of customer service. Highgly reccommend to convertible owners, especially for those with hard-top BMWs that tend to go wrong often. Thank you again!

Cayman autos are incredible! I had a 207cc roof open stuck overnight, I called in the morning and they fit me in the same day even though the wait was 5 weeks! A visit initially just for them to at least close it for safety purposes, but they diagnosed and repaired within an hour and a half. I literally don’t know what I would have done without them. The staff at Cayman Auto Services provided an excellent first class service and repair to my Alfa Romeo 939 Spider. My problem was a typical one involving the flap motors, having lowered the roof, I could not restore it to its fully closed position and had to do it manually. I scoured the Internet looking for new flap motors, but to no avail....... until I contacted Cayman. From my first telephone call, Nicki was extremely helpful and advised me that because new flap motors were becoming very rare, they were now using reconditioned motors with great success. Due to lockdown, I delayed booking my car in for repair, but two months later I have a soft top that is working as good as new. Their diagnostic tests confirmed my original thoughts and the money spent in having the whole mechanism serviced proved worthwhile as the two main struts also needed replacing. It may have taken me 5 hours in a round trip to get there, but to have my Spider back in good working condition, for a very reasonable price, is well worth it. Thank you guys for your friendly, courteous and professional service, I would definitely recommend you.

Had my car booked in with a leaking vario roof. Ideally they needed the car overnight but I had work meetings the next day. The team were amazing and repaired all the roof seals within a day, serviced the roof mechanism and handed it back by the evening. The ladies in the office were great, taking care of me even though socially distancing, keeping me informed how the repairs were going and providing a seat so I could rest my bad back. Really great service. I could not find anywhere that would fix my Audi A5 soft top roof (Audi advised the only way to fix it was to replace it) but this company did it no problem. I also used them to clean up the roof and now it looks brand new. Millie and Sophie in particular were super helpful.

Problem with my BMW series 4 roof only after one week of ownership! Error code telling my roof is not locked, with constant warning beep! Due to go Cornwall the next day, so Cayman slotted me in for an early appointment the day before at short notice. All error codes cleared, and so far so good fingers crossed.Update: 27.10.2020As expected (and discussed with Adam), a return visit was required as the same fault code reappeared. This time it was evident that a faulty microswitch was causing the fault. Adam got to work on it right away, and a couple of hours later it was all fixed. Quite a way to travel, but well worth it as these guys are THE specialists. Credit to the ladies in the Office as well, as really super helpful and friendly. 100% recommended.

Visited after issues with my A5 roof and being told by a local company to simply get a new roof I found these guys. Within a few hours they diagnosed the fault and had a plan in place to fix it for a 3rd of the price! Within 2 days my roof was working and the rear window was rebonded which I was told couldn't be done by the local guy. Thanks Cayman Autos! Went to see these guys for a small leak with my M3 convertible. Was told that a seal treatment would probably help and may well resolve the issue. After paying for the expensive seal treatment the problem remained exactly the same. They told me that I would now need to pay more for a water test in order to get a proper diagnosis. Having paid for and got their diagnosis, I would have assumed that fixing the problem would be routine (Since I have now paid for a very thorough diagnosis and they should know exactly what the problem is now?). They said the seals would need re-bonding (an expensive job) but would not offer ANY GUARANTEE that this would fix the problem (Why did I just pay them another £100 for a diagnosis that they wont even stand by?). They said this may or may not fix the problem and is "just the next step in the process" !!! Wont be going back here again. My advice - avoid at all costs- update -The company has responded below and basically tried to discredit my review by saying they have no knowledge of the booking (total lies) and responses to their comments seem to be disabled! They No I cannot post my registration number here! Check your records!This seems to be a standard response for reviews they don't like.Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Bentley Azure 1998 roof mechanism decided to get confused and shut itself down in a huff. I can fix many simple things but not this, it's always well lubricated at joints and drains free. Took them a long day but a limit switch was out of adjustment and not engaging. All fixed now.

Excellent customer service from start to finish received from Niki. Originally spoke to Vauxhall about an issue with my hard top roof malfunctioning, they quoted me £274 + vat just for a diagnostic test and informed me they couldn’t book me in until middle of August. I then got in touch with Caymans Autos who booked me in on a day that was convenient to me. Fixed my roof and came back with a price that was a hell of a lot cheaper than Vauxhall. I cannot recommend them enough.

And just to say on every level, Pie in the sky quotes and appalling customer service. Some research online and I came across, “Cayman.” Even in these uncertain times. I am so really happy to not only have my roof working again but also that I have found a reliable, friendly, professional company to carry out the work.The problem was diagnosed and I was given the option whether or not to have it fixed with advice that there was a second issue which might require remedy in the future. Excellent service I received today at Cayman auto services. Had a problem with my BMW e93 roof was opening halfway and not closing on arrival Adam the technician he was very helpful and said it would take around an hour to check the car out I got a call back within 45 minutes saying my car is fixed and there is no parts to pay for just a diagnostics charge a very honest company at a very reasonable price please give them a try if you do have any issues with your roof half an hour drive from Streatham South London excellent service keep up the hard work Cayman autos and I will recommend to anybody I know with roof problems thank you jenny

My VW Eos had been written off as a category N because of damage to the roof mechanism alone.I bought the car back from the insurance company because I had found Cayman Auto Services on Google.They guaranteed to close the roof, give me a quote for a fully working repair and carry out the repair within one day.I decided it was worth the 200 mile trip and they kept all of their promises.My car is now has a fully operational roof and sunroof which is better than ever.I was treated with great kindness and respect by this lovely company. These guys are truly amazing and a credit to the motor industry world. I initially took my car somewhere local just because of distance to travel but I urge everyone else out there not to make the same mistake as it's way worth travelling. My car went into a local garage and came back out to me after four days still with the same fault and a bill of £600 with them asking for a further £2000 to repair the fault.I lost faith in that garage took it to Cayman autos and left the same day within 4 hours in fact with the roof fully working and functioning at a quarter of the price quoted by the other workshop.Andy and the team are exceptional, the office staff were great and Andy himself really took the time to fully explain the faults and everything they have done.Honest, genuine and an expert in their field which is rare these days. Sometimes you can get to know the character and culture of a company when things don't go smoothly. I had an intemittent issue with the electric hood of my 1998 BMW Z3. I left my car with Cayman Autos and a couple of days later I was told the problem was an electric contact and it had been replaced. I paid £170 and drove off, only to find that the problem still persisted and the hood only worked occasionally. This wasn't the fault of the engineers at Cayman. Finding a fault with a failed item is much easier than an intermittent fault and this was brought to my attention.To cut a long story short, I had to take my car back to caymans 3 times and they tried to fix the issue but it was on the final occasion in late August, the problem which I was told was a wiring fault was finally resolved by Adam who I must say is an asset to his company. I wasn't charged any extra money and in my view Adam's persistance saved the day. Despite the fact I had to go back to Cayman three times, Adam was always polite and curtious.I have no hesitation in recommnending Cayman Autos. In a world where human contact is a rarity in commercial life and computer generated ansaphones make us feel like mere numbers, it's good to find a company that has a personal touch and a soul.Thank you Cayman Autos and especially thank you Adam.

Back in March 2019 the roof of my BMW Z4 failed. I took my car to Adam to diagnose and fix. He managed to fix it within a few hours and the cost was more than half of BMW! AMAZING! -This week the roof of my car failed again. I went back to Adam so he can have a look. He told me it is very unlikely the same issue would have arisen in this short time and it might be a new fault which would need repair and that would be a new cost.Within 2 hours he called me and told me the car was fixed at no charge as a gesture of good will as i supplied my own micro switch to fix it.I cannot tell you how much of a nice guy Adam is and how amazing Cayman Autos are! This is the best garage to fix convertible roofs PERIOD!If i could give more than 5 stars i would!HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

We took our Vauxhall Tigra to Cayman Autos on 24th May 2019 after both the boot and roof failed to open. From first contact with Jenny everything went smoothly with a reminder for the appointment. We arrived an hour early as the motorways were moving well but not a problem, it was taken into the workshop immediately. We were looked after by, I think Lucy, who told us cafes to go to and when we asked about buses into Redhill and Reigate towns she was very helpful in providing a bus timetable and where to catch the bus from which is less than 5 minutes' walk away and even went in search of a carrier bag as we had forgotten to empty the items in the netting behind the seats. Jenny rang us once the diagnostic test had been carried out to explain that the hydraulic pump needed replacing and gave us a price for the work. We agreed to have it done and were told it would be ready by 3 pm. At a little after 2.15 pm Jenny rang to say that the car was ready. On collection it was noted that the seals were dirty and Jenny said it was something we could do ourselves and gave advice on cleaning and a Mercedes part number and name for the lubricant they themselves use on seals. The mechanic who carried out the repair came out and gave us a rundown on what he had done, think his name was Dan, he was really helpful and the roof and boot mechanism are now very smooth. First class service from first 'phone call to driving the car away from the forecourt. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Cayman Autos for convertible roof repairs, they know their stuff. Thank you to all the team and hope names are correct and apologies if not.

So booked an appointment for this morning paid for diagnostic ahead and glad to say a fault was found and fixed on the spot which no other garage had done for how many years. Alfa Romeo Roof Spider. Very professional and knew their stuff. Can't remember the last time we were able to drive without worrying if the roof would open or close. Very impressed, also had a roof service which put our mind at rest knowing everything else was in good order. Technician also suggested good housekeeping. I never leave feedback on companies, but after using Caymen autos I felt it was incumbent upon me to do so. This company in general and Adam the technician in particular are absolutely brilliant.After trying four other companies that failed to fix my mini roof, I finally found Caymen. Within a day the problem was fixed and the roof was working perfectly. They have since worked on a mini for me that had previouslybeen messed about with by "experts ". It was a monster mess, but after Adam spent some time on it, again working perfectly. I really did not think this car could be fixed by, but a phone call from Nicky to inform me it was working was both unexpected and very welcome. I really cant recommend Caymen autos enough. I wasted money with the main dealer and a local indy before trying Cayman to sort out my SLK roof issues. The fault was diagnosed in about 30 mins and fixed the same day, just wish I'd found them before the best summer since 1976 !! Unlike some garages I could mention the staff were all friendly, helpful and professional even arranging a taxi to take me into Redhill shopping centre while the work was carried out. Top marks all round.

I was dealt with by the owners Jenny & Adam who carefully explained CLK's have an issue whereby when the front seal starts to deteriorate, rain builds up and runs into the gutter area above the windows passenger and driver where it can leak from. This makes perfect sense. I opted to get the seal only done as this was also broken. I understand there is no guarantee as this may not fix the issue. Fingers crossed and if it does not I will return and get the front seal and roof done. They gave me a good feeling of a very experienced business, with good business sense and a refreshing approach to dealing with my initial complaint during their holiday period.

I drove my wife's EOS from Nottingham to have Cayman fix the folding roof which had stopped working. The staff in the office were friendly and helpful setting-up the appointment and Adam diagnosed the problem within a couple of minutes of my arrival. He sent me off to a cafe round the corner and fixed the roof within the hour. A brilliant service.

The fault with my electric roof was diagnosed and fixed within a few hours - it was 3-hour round trip from home, and Adam saved me the trouble of having to come back on another occasion.From the moment I booked the appointment, right through to a query afterwards, Adam, Nicky and Jenny have been extremely professional, offering excellent customer service.I plan to have a convertible for the foreseeable future, so I imagine I'll be making a return journey at some point! :)

Whilst Williams BMW quoted a crazy 17000. After having paid £120 to tell us the bad news and a whole day... just when you think you will never be able to drive it with the roof down we found these great guys. Despite having an extended warranty on my 4 year old EOS I was charged £96 by the VW dealer I bought from, for an inconclusive diagnosis on my faulty roof mechanism and was then told it would cost £198 for further diagnosis plus any additional costs for parts and repairs which would require booking my car in for 2 to 3 days. Found Cayman Autos through their amazing reviews, they booked my car in two days later and resolved the issue in two hours for £400. Cannot recommend highly enough A*

Impeccable service.I first took my 2009 Z4 down to have a fault diagnosed, which the guys here fixed within a couple of days. A week or two later the same fault occurred, and I contacted Cayman. They asked me to bring the car straight in, and spent an entire weekend working non-stop to repair it - which they eventually did by rewiring the entire roof.When I went to pick that car up for the second time I was expecting a huge bill, but Adam wouldn't charge me a penny. He said they should have got it right the first time.Phenomenal service. I'd recommend them to anyone.

If Carlsberg did garages .......What can I say? The roof failed on my BMW Z4 E89, and it was not an easy fix. Right from the off, the Cayman Autos staff were courteous, diagnosed the problem and helped me liase with the dealer that I'd purchased the car from. I had driven 80 miles for these guys to weave their roof magic, and every mile was worthwhile. God forbid I have another problem with the roof, but if I do, then it will be these guys I will enlist the help of. After a few unsuccessful visits to local garages, I decided to look further afield for a specialist who could fix my Vauxhall Astra Twin Top Roof. I had problems with it for weeks and needed someone to look at it who knew what they were doing.I came across Cayman Autos after researching online, and got in touch to explain my problems. They seemed confident they could fix it and get me back on the road the same day, so I booked it in for a Saturday and made the 2 hour trip to the garage.I dropped it off at 8.30 and got a call an hour later advising me what the issue was and how much it would be to fix. I agreed to go ahead with the work and picked my car up at 12pm.I was really impressed and so happy to get it fixed and back the same day.Everyone I talked to/dealt with at Cayman Autos was friendly and professional, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a convertible specialist garage.

Put my VW EOS in to identify water leak and clear drains and paid £120 + vat. Got car back was told seals need cleaning and treating with Krytox ata cost of £860 + vat. We were told it would take 4 days Labour to complete. I decided to make some enquiries and went direct to local VW dealer who quoted me £280 inc vat though they said it was an easy enough job to do so I decided to do it myself. Whilst I was cleaning the seals I found that one of the drains was blocked with some mastic which I found quite remarkable considering 4 days prior Cayman had apparently cleared the drains. Job took me a day to do it thoroughly at a cost of £40 for the Krytox. Considering I paid £144 to essentially have a bucket of water thrown over my car, drains blatantly not unblocked and to be told it would cost me over £1000 to repair I'd suggest to avoid at all cost.

Had a problem with my Astra Twintop H version roof, it kept stopping when trying to lower it. So I took it to my local Vauxhall dealer whose "roof expert" after having the car all day Informed me that it was a faulty pump and it was going to cost over £2,000 to fix.As this would effectively make the car worthless, what's the point of having a convertible car if the roof does not work? I decided to check around.A quick check on the internet and I found Cayman, a phone call and the car was booked in for a couple of days later with a fixed price 25% of Vauxhalls price if it was going to be a new pump.So at 11am, I turn up at their workshop, warmly greeted and told where the nearest cafe was and they would call me when it was ready.I had just git my cup of tea.when 20 mins my phone went off telling me that the car was ready,The cost £72 for the diagnostic. No parts needed as the problem was one of the sensors had moved in its holder. It only needed to be repositioned correctly and the roof worked perfectly.If you have any problem with your roof, take it to them. They will check it properly and do a fantastic job.I went back to my local Vauxhall Dealer and asked them to explain why their "expert" could not find the problem in a day. Their explanation was "Our engineer felt the pump was slow and we gave you a quote for a worst case scenario ". If I had them do what they recommended I would have been seriously out of pocket.The lesson learned, if you have a roof problem with your Vauxhall, don't waste your time with their so called "experts", bring it to Cayman straight away. I am still having Vauxhall service the car so I get a dealer stamp, but if they find any problems that need fixing I am getting another opinion as it could save me a lot of money.Thank you the staff of Cayman Auto Services I would recommend you to anyone who has a convertible.

I had an issue with my BMW 6 series convertible roof.My main dealers answer was a new roof at over £12,000 plus vat and fitting.I contacted Cayman autos and Jenny assured me they could repair it......so I shipped the car over 400 miles to them.....car arrived in the morning and I received a call to say the car would be ready for collection at 5pm the same day.Bill was £480 and I was delighted.Genuinely nice, extremely knowledgeable people.I can't recommend them highly enough.John

We had a problem with the roof on our Mini convertible which the BMW Mini Centre charged £96 plus VAT to diagnose. The result was that in their opinion a new roof frame was needed at a cost of £5,584.77 plus V.A.T. for parts alone.We took the car to Cayman Auto Services who discovered the real fault, which was a kinked hydraulic pipe, and repaired it within two hours at a cost of £240 plus V.A.T.We can't praise Cayman enough for the service they provide. Very obliging and friendly and as you can see very expert.

Excellent service. Problem with roof mechanism was diagnosed and a quotation was given to fix using a second hand part (the original Vauxhall part would have cost more than the car was worth!). Repair made, all working again. Well worth the trip up from Dorset. 10/10 for professionalism and all round service. Recommend Pepe's for breakfast-while-you-wait.

The Cayman Autos team and Adam (the owner) are a credit to the automotive repair industry. From the get-go there is an air of trust and sense of being properly looked after, something that's very hard to come by these days when taking your vehicle into a garage for any repairs.Cayman first diagnosed my BMW 335i hard-top convertible back in 2016. The diagnosis was in-depth and was all done within the space of an hour. We quickly booked the vehicle in and repairs were made. The work that needed doing was relatively introvert as there were several problem-areas within the roof, and as such the vehicle needed to go back in for a second session after the first set of seals etc were allowed to settle.At every area of the process and communication with Cayman, they show the utmost professionalism and are all a very delightful bunch to deal with; including Adam himself, his technicians and the lovely ladies at reception.Cayman are honestly a huge credit to the industry and I would recommend them to anyone as you get what you pay for with specialist repairs and it's worth the money for the peace of mind you have + the after-sales service - not to mention they clean your vehicle inside and out on collection.10/10 Cayman Autos - Dan Brooks, BMW 335i 2007 hard-top convertible.

I just bought a Scooter from these guys and subsequently drove it Across the HILLS of PENNINESHIRE (Via Windsor, Buckingham etc) ...WOW!!!, What a RIDE!!! - the scooter is a 69cc MALAGUTI and I am EXTREMELY HAPPY!!! ...I spent MORE on general Expenses than I paid for the Bike (in getting back to the suburbs of Manchester)

Took a recently purchased mini convertible in with what other people had told me was an unusual alignment problem. Adam diagnosed the fault quickly and turned it around a day early. I have no doubt that I would have been charged more had I taken it to a less experienced garage, or certainly a main dealer. Very happy - would definitely recommend.
